Network Strategy & Strategic Relationship Development Professional
is responsible for overseeing the execution of MVP's Alternate
Payment Model (APM) strategy and key Network initiatives. This team
member is responsible for working with the Network Strategy team
and key leaders and contributors across the organization (namely
Actuarial Services, Network Management, Operations, Digital
Transformation and Technology and Strategic Provider Engagement) to
support development, successful implementation, provider adoption
and refinement of innovative MVP payment models and/or data
exchange initiatives designed to meet the needs of our customers
with a focus on the Quadruple Aim: improving population health,
reducing costs, enhancing the member experience and instilling a
culture of mutual respect and belief in our provider
relationships.
The role will
- Oversee efforts to execute APM payment model and/or data
exchange strategies to align with MVP's overall goals by working
collaboratively with Actuarial, Digital Transformation and
Technology, Health Management and the leadership of other core
functional areas
- Enable providers to adopt and be successful in innovative new
payment methodologies such as capitated primary care models,
value-based payment risk arrangements and bundled payments; initial
focus is on primary care with an evolution to high-cost specialty
care
- Support Clinical Strategic Provider Engagement and Network
Management in guiding providers / partners from concept promotion
and discovery, through negotiations, to agreement and contracting
for network products through implementation, adoption and
maintenance
- Develop, monitor and execute plans to achieve initiative
success and implementation to achieve targeted business
outcomes
- Contribute to APM playbook through content development and
education
- Capture program success stories by documenting the stories and
helping teammates learn to share the message along with the
rationale, network product features with providers / partners
- Collect and relay valuable feedback to inform future model
development and roadmaps
- Develop targets and oversee the definition and tracking of
success metrics for new payment models, data exchange initiatives,
and other network products
- Support account planning and development efforts for new
provider / partners accounts with other Network and Health
Management team members
- Convey feedback and recommendations from teammates and provider
accounts to Network Strategy and Network Product Development to
support existing product refinement and new product / initiative
development
- Support the evaluation of the success of our initiatives,
programs and tools including reporting, impact on quality, trend,
member experience and regulatory relationships
- Perform other related duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business, health care administration, or
related field
- Advanced degree preferred
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with increasing responsibilities
in business development, account management, and/or business
partner relationship management in a healthcare business or
organization, with prior health care provider, system, or
insurance/managed care experience preferred
- Experience with Population Health strategies and Alternate
Payment Models (APM) to aid in the transition from Fee-For-Service
to Value-Based Payment (VBP) including capitation models,
high-performing networks, enhanced preferred providers programs,
bundled payments, etc.
- Knowledge of health information exchange (i.e., clinical data
and claims data sharing)
- Comfort and skill communicating with external and internal
parties to deliver key messages, influence stakeholders, manage
expectations, and shape outcomes
- Experience leading through innovation, change, and even
disruption
- Track record of relationship management, ideally in health care
provider space, with particular focus on solution development
- Experience developing and monitoring delivery of efficient and
effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
- Business development skills with negotiation and provider
contracting experience preferred
- Capable of collaborating with multidiscipline, high-performance
work teams with demonstrated ability to coordinate resources and
goals across multiple related priority initiatives
- Must be able to understand, define, cost, prioritize, and
implement new approaches
- Experience with APM and population health use cases (e.g.,
quality reporting, risk coding, care coordination, total medical
expense initiatives, etc.) preferred
- Experience with health care financial reporting, population
health analytics and budget and ROI analysis preferred

- Ability to analyze project needs and determine resources needed
to meet objectives and solve problems spanning multiple
interdisciplinary teams and environments
- Ability to work with data to perform basic analysis,
interrogate data to answer questions, and evaluate payment model
impact/comparison for providers.
- Comfortable working on simultaneous and diverse projects and
activities
- Ability to work under pressure with urgency and speed
- Ability to travel as required throughout MVP Health Care's
service area
- Effective use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel,
PowerPoint, and Word)
