Albany Medical Center, a leading healthcare system known for innovation in medical education, research, and patient care, is currently seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse II for our Labor and Delivery/Antepartum department. This role is pivotal in providing critical care to mothers during the delicate phases of labor and pre-birth. The selected candidate will be integral in maintaining our commitment to compassionate, patient-focused care in a state-of-the-art medical environment. Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers in labor, delivery, and the antepartum period. Assess, plan, and implement nursing care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members. Monitor fetal heart rate, and mother’s vital signs, recognizing signs of distress and initiating interventions. Educate patients and their families on labor processes, prenatal care, and postpartum care. Administer medications and perform medical interventions as prescribed by obstetricians. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Albany Medical Center’s documentation system. Support patient and family advocacy and maintain a safe environment. Strong clinical skills in maternal and fetal health. Proficient in the use of medical technology, including fetal monitors and medical documentation software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and effectively. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to practice in the state of New York. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) highly desirable.
