Albany Medical Center, a leading healthcare institution

research, and exemplary patient care, is seeking a highly skilled
and compassionate Clinical Nurse III to join our Post-Anesthesia
Care Unit (PACU) team. As a Clinical Nurse III, you will play a
vital role in managing the recovery of patients following
anesthesia, ensuring high standards of nursing care, assessing
patient conditions, and collaborating with surgical staff. This
position requires advanced knowledge of post-operative care
protocols and the ability to respond swiftly and efficiently to
recovery complications. Monitor patients for changes in status and
indications of conditions such as sepsis or shock and institute
appropriate interventions. Administer medications and interventions
safely and effectively to minimize pain and maximize healing.
Evaluate patient responses to interventions and adjust care plans
accordingly. Educate patients and families about post-procedure
care, health maintenance, and disease prevention. Collaborate with
a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient well-being. Document
patient care services by charting in patient and department
records. Advanced skills in patient assessment and critical
thinking. Proficient in managing multiple priorities in a
high-stress environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills. Extensive knowledge of pharmacology, particularly in the
types of anesthesia and pain relief medications. Ability to operate
and monitor bio-medical equipment. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current Registered
Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Certified Post
Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) or Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia
Nurse (CAPA) preferred.
