Registered Nurse Educator - Perinatal (OR Circulation) – UHC Staffing Registered Nurse Educator - Perinatal (OR Circulation) Location: Pittsfield, MA Start Date: 02-03-2026 End Date: 05-05-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: 12-hour day shifts; schedule options include 36-hour (3 × 12h) or 48-hour (4 × 12h) rotations. Day-shift focused (exact start/end times vary by unit and will be provided by the facility). Note: 8-hour non-billable orientation required. Roles & Responsibilities Educate and mentor perioperative staff in OR circulation specifically for C-section procedures, ensuring best practices and patient safety Design, deliver, and evaluate hands-on education and simulation for perinatal teams to strengthen OR-L&D collaboration Assess competency, maintain up-to-date skills checklists for educator and labor & delivery functions, and document progress Collaborate with nursing leadership and multidisciplinary teams to standardize workflows and improve clinical outcomes Provide supervisory-level guidance and act as a clinical resource during C-sections and complex perinatal situations Ensure compliance with AHA and facility standards by verifying ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications are current Qualifications Minimum 3 years current RN Educator experience in the perinatal field (required) Proven experience educating staff on OR circulation for C-sections (required) — straight L&D bedside-only RNs will not be considered Current Massachusetts RN license (must be uploaded with profile and in-hand prior to submission) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; higher degree accepted Active American Heart Association certifications: ACLS and BLS, plus Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) — must be in-hand and uploaded at profile submission Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred Supervisory-signed reference from within the past two years required Must provide perm address at profile upload and have reliable personal transportation Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree or higher in nursing or related field preferred Knowledge & Skills Deep knowledge of perinatal nursing, labor & delivery processes, and C-section workflows Expertise in OR circulation for obstetric surgery and the ability to teach those practices effectively Strong educator skills: curriculum development, simulation facilitation, competency assessment, and documentation Familiarity with Meditech Expanse or similar EHR systems (preferred) Excellent communication, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills Ability to manage credentialing requirements and maintain up-to-date certifications Benefits Meaningful work at a nationally recognized teaching hospital — your training will directly improve patient care 8-hour orientation to get you comfortable and confident on day one Professional development and mentorship as an RN Educator in a collaborative environment Flexible 12-hour schedule options (36- or 48-hour rotations) to help balance life and work A supportive interdisciplinary team that values educator expertise and bedside experience Clear credentialing requirements and a predictable submission process to minimize delays Opportunity to lead hands-on training for OR circulation and C-section care — high-impact clinical education Work in a community that values patient safety and quality — be part of a team with strong outcomes Travel Perks: Explore Pittsfield, MA Explore the beautiful Berkshires while on assignment.
