Job Description Job Description Join the OrthoNY team as a
Pre-Op/PACU RN and play a crucial role in providing high-quality
care before and after surgery. You’ll prepare patients for surgery,
assess their post-operative condition, monitor vital signs, and
ensure they meet discharge criteria. If you are an experienced PACU

37.5 hours per week. Monday-Friday; no weekends, holidays, or on
call Pay is based on years of experience General Description The
Pre-op/PACU RN will assist in providing high quality care during
the pre-op and post-op phase of the patient's visit.
Responsibilities Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to
surgery; Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and
correct; Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure
readiness for surgical procedure; Assess patients’ post-operative
condition; Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress
to ensure patient is meeting discharge criteria; Document all
findings in patient files; Answer patient questions to ensure
patient comfort; Monitor patients for condition changes, report any
changes to physician; Perform intervention duties during
post-operative emergencies; Gather pertinent medical history and
provide concise instruction for pre-operative and post-operative
care; Other responsibilities as needed/assigned. Qualifications
Current unrestricted NYS RN license; Minimum of 2 years previous
PACU or critical care experience required; Ability to effectively
communicate with providers, patients and peers; Candidate must
demonstrate aptitude for maintaining pace of abbreviated patient
encounters, keeping flow to reasonable time frame in post-operative
care; Specialized knowledge, skill and abilities in perioperative
nursing; Capable of decision making when applicable. Other
Information Ability to travel to various OrthoNY locations if
needed. Reliable transportation is essential.
