Roles & Responsibilities Triage and assess patients quickly and accurately in the Emergency Department Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for acute and critical patients Initiate and manage emergency interventions, including IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient care and disposition Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes promptly and thoroughly in the medical record Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care with clarity and empathy Qualifications Current, unrestricted New York Registered Nurse (RN) license BLS (Basic Life Support) required ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and TNCC preferred Previous Emergency Department experience preferred for night shifts Ability to pass facility-required health screenings and background checks Education Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred Knowledge & Skills Strong emergency assessment and triage skills Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring Calm, decisive critical-thinking and prioritization in high-acuity situations Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced ED environment Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation Benefits Flexible, part-time night schedules so you can find the work-life balance that fits you Travel reimbursement and travel support for contract nurses Licensure assistance & reimbursement to help you get started quickly Medical, Dental & Vision coverage options Paid Time Off to recharge between assignments Help with housing logistics and local orientation for travelers A supportive ED team that values your skills and input Referral bonus program and opportunities to build your professional network Travel Perks: Explore Lowville, NY Lowville is a charming small town in upstate New York with easy access to outdoor recreation and local flavors.
