Description We are seeking a full-time Internal Medicine Physician
(MD/DO) to join a well-established inpatient team in Rome, New York
, practicing as a Nocturnist . This permanent role offers a 7 days
on / 7 days off night schedule , a low and manageable patient
census, and strong subspecialty and intensivist support in a
collaborative hospital environment. This position is ideal for
physicians who prefer overnight work with predictable scheduling
and excellent work-life balance. Assignment Details Location: Rome,
NY Position Type: Permanent Specialty: Internal Medicine Role:
Nocturnist Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off Shift Hours: 7:00 PM –
7:00 AM Weekend Coverage: Included as part of rotation On Call:
None Providers Needed: 1 Pay: Inquire for details Clinical
Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care
during overnight shifts Manage a low overnight census
(approximately 5–10 patients per night) Perform admissions from the
emergency department and direct admissions Conduct patient
assessments including histories, physical exams, and diagnostic
evaluations Monitor and manage acute medical conditions, including
patients in an open ICU with intensivist consultation available
24/7 Document all clinical encounters accurately and timely using
the Paragon EMR Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, case
managers, and ancillary teams Coordinate care transitions and
assist with discharge planning as needed Participate in
interdisciplinary handoffs to ensure continuity of care Adhere to
hospital policies, medical staff bylaws, and quality standards
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental
activities Support learners or advanced practice providers when
applicable Utilize evidence-based clinical judgment and maintain

Qualifications MD or DO Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in
Internal Medicine Board Eligible candidates must be within 1 year
of eligibility Active New York medical license or willingness to
obtain DEA certification Clean malpractice and license history At
least 1 year of hospitalist or nocturnist experience preferred The
Self-Query NPDB report must be dated within 30 days of the
presentation date – [REQUIRED] Comfortable practicing independently
