Job Description:
Albany Medical Center, a leading healthcare system, seeks an
experienced Clinical Nurse III to join our Short Stay Surgical
Unit. This role is pivotal in providing top-notch patient care in a
dynamic environment that bridges intensive care and post-surgical
recovery. Our nurses are essential in managing patient care before
their release or transfer, ensuring a safe and efficient stay. With
a focus on surgical patients, this role demands a deep
understanding of perioperative and postoperative care, fast
decision-making, and excellent patient interaction skills. Assess
patient conditions and administer appropriate clinical
interventions. Monitor, record, and communicate patient status as
appropriate. Ensure that surgical procedures follow all hospital
and state guidelines. Provide post-operative nursing care to
improve recovery and reduce hospital stay durations. Educate
patients and their families on post-discharge care and health
management. Collaborate with healthcare team to refine patient care
plans and interventions. Manage patient documentation and records
with precision and adherence to privacy regulations. Ability to
operate and monitor surgical and medical equipment. Strong
interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in data entry
and patient management systems. Capacity to handle stressful
situations with professionalism. Knowledge of post-surgical
recovery protocols and pain management strategies. Medical

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
