Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 4 10s or 5 8s Experience: 2 years of Catholic Lab experience, 2 years of experience in cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures License: Current New York License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Moderate Sedation Certified - Highly Preferred Cath and peripheral experience, STEMI and STEMI call experience - Required Proficiency in interpreting EKG and hemodynamic pressure tracings - Required Conscious sedation experience - Required IV experience - Required EP experience - Highly Preferred Traveler must have their own vehicle Clinician must be reliable Description: The Cardiac Catheterization Lab provides care to both the acute inpatient population as well as the elective outpatient population. Care is primarily provided within a specialized cardiovascular lab. Staff is available 24/7 for any emergency procedures during off hours, weekends, and holidays. Care is provided through an interdisciplinary team of specialized physicians, registered clinical nurses, registered radiology technologists, and cardiovascular technologists. Positions and immobilizes patients on examining tables following specified protocols. Continuous assessment of patient hemodynamics is essential. Performs conscious sedation and mixes and maintains IV/IC infusion and bolus. Alerts physicians to changes in patient responses. Assists physicians in interventional procedures and recovery of patients to Phase I. Requested time off during the course of this assignment must be noted and verified. Reliable attendance and patient-oriented focus are required. Dress code includes personal scrubs of any color - no designs or cartoons.
