Pharmacy Compliance Coordinator

Summary

  • This position will be responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, oversight and monitoring of the departmental compliance programs to assure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and other oversight entity regulations.
  • Executes and maintains oversight of compliance related projects/programs/activities associated with the Pharmacy department.
  • Monitors, analyzes, summarizes, disseminates and coordinates with internal and external partners any regulatory changes and identifies impact to business.
  • Coordinates and supervises compliance-related audit activities, including facilitation of workgroups, developing workplans, data/document collection and validation, recording and summarizing audit results, and develop/implement Corrective Action Plans associated with identified compliance concerns or recommendations.
  • Develops, maintains and updates documentation, including policies, procedures and job aids, to comply with new or changing regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates the development of compliance training tools for new hires and existing team members with the assistance of the other Pharmacy Coordinators and Leaders.
  • Coordinates the development of reports, projects and assessment tools to verify compliance and identify areas of risk.
  • Performs periodic reviews of operational compliance.
  • Documents performance measures, tracks compliance issues, and reports status to Pharmacy Management and MVP Compliance team in conjunction with other Pharmacy Coordinators and Leaders.
  • Develops, implements and monitors action plans to resolve identified or potential compliance risks. Provides oversight of departmental regulatory reporting and PBM reporting as noted in vendor contracts and/or delegation agreements with the assistance of the Pharmacy Leadership. Assists with Delegation Oversight Committee reporting.
  • Coordinates product benefit development, pre-production testing and monitoring with Pharmacy Coordinators and Leaders to ensure all regulatory requirements are addressed, monitored and documented.
  • Acts as subject matter expert and representative for all departmental compliance-related activities to internal and external partners.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Position Qualifications:

    Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field strongly preferred.

    Minimum Experience: At least 3 years prior compliance, managed care, or health-system experience required. Previous experience in a pharmacy or health insurance-related field and/or compliance highly preferred. Project management and/or prior leadership experience highly preferred.

    Required skills:
  • Strong skills in critical thinking, interpersonal interactions, verbal and written communication, and time and organizational management.
  • Highly detail oriented with strong analytical and technical skills. Strong computer skills with common business programs (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Highly capable of working independently or in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of change control and issue management in a project context.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects under time constraints under direction from multiple

    internal/external partners. Ability to adjust priorities to meet multiple competing deadlines.
  • Proactive, analytical, and process driven with a strong focus on meeting deliverables and business requirements.
  • Influential verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external customers.
