Job Description:

Medical Director Riverside, California md Competitive compensation and benefits offered. The Medical Director is responsible for the general administration and management of the Medical Department. Work closely with Administration to ensure comprehensive delivery of services and high quality patient care. Cooperate with management in the direction of all clinic activities to ensure accomplishment of all RSBCIHI objectives. Evaluate medical procedures and everyday situations and suggest ways to improve delivery of service. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide medical treatment for illnesses and injuries. Chart all patient transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures. Including, but not limited to office visits, phone contact with patients. Supervise Physicians and Nurse Practitioners to assure compliance. Educate and train staff in new procedures, use of equipment, proper charting techniques or other issues involving RSBCIHI. May be required to visit patients as needed for part of our RSBCIHI services. Assist management in identifying, analyzing, and resolving work problems. Work with site Managers with Performance evaluations of staff and any disciplinary and/or recognition issues for staff. Evaluate the effectiveness of existing clinical methods and procedures and suggest improvements. Maintain professional communications by attending all required meetings, conference calls and responding to email, telephone or written communication in a timely manner. Participate in the orientation of clinical staff physicians and nurse practitioners, and students. Be responsible for notifying providers of memos from Management; Identify ways to implement any changes in his/her specific clinic. Monitor for adherence to changes. To ensure proper staffing. It may be necessary to respond to coverage issues by working additional hours if there is not alternative coverage. Supervise the working hours, punctuality, and attendance of the medical staff. Documentation of any counseling sessions with other providers must be sent to the Regional Medical Director. Assist clinical staff in understanding and complying with policies and procedures. Maintain quality assurance for all medical issues and assist in the solution of any medical problems. Recruit physicians and nurse practitioners as necessary. Direct, review and evaluate performance of physicians and nurse practitioners following protocols on documentation of issues and communicating issues / resolution / action. Assist Site Managers in performance evaluations of clinical staff which could include communicating staff suggestions and/or complaints; contributing solutions to intra- and inter-departmental problems; serving as a liaison between the Site Manager and the staff; mediating professional disputes and problems.. Have a working knowledge of both medication and supply formularies. Have a working knowledge of the basic financial reports of RSBCIHI. Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations. Serve as liaison to associations in the community and to any other organization that might affect business at RSBCIHI. Conduct clinical reviews to ensure level of care criteria is being met by Clinical Site Manager MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Board certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine License Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California Experience: Six years experience. Knowledge of: Knowledge of managed care required, knowledge of community Academic experience and strong research and teaching background is preferred. Psychiatry, child psychiatry, public sector populations, forensic issues strongly preferred. Ability to: Ability to perform CPR and ACLS Certification required Must be able to work on weekends or late on evenings when necessary .Work closely with corporations employees, contract agency representative and Administration. Be discreet and maintain program confidentiality. Must have good people skills. Must be able to work within the Indian Community, and be sensitive to the Indian culture and its needs. . Physical Demands: Sitting, walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items. Incumbent will be required to attend various meetings. Riverside-San Bernardino County Indian Health Inc., is not A federal government agency. This position does not entitle the incumbent to accrue any benefits from any federal benefits program.
