    Summary:

    The Director, Enterprise Data Systems role is to use expert skills and knowledge to define and deliver data solutions and to contribute to the development and implementation of the enterprise data strategy ensuring it is in line with and supports the IT and Business strategies. The Director will lead a team of traditional and cloud data professionals and ensure data maturity and best practices are followed in our continually growing cloud data platform. Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Lead the data design of solutions for large projects and programs; through expert knowledge translate high-level business requirements into data models and appropriate metadata, test data, and data quality standards.
    • Partner with senior business stakeholders to secure strong engagement for the solution and ensure that the delivery of the project aligns to longer-term strategic roadmaps.
    • Simplify the existing data architecture, delivering reusable services and cost saving opportunities in line with the policies and standards of the group.
    • Provide clear, continuous, and consistent data architecture leadership to database and cloud data professionals.
    • Ensure the end-to-end solution is fit for purpose, meet the needs of business, the agreed requirements, and are both pragmatic and supportive of the strategic architecture direction.
    • Identify and communicate appropriate resource requirements and work breakdown structure based on skills profile and best fit to complete the end-to-end solution design, and work with the project manager/scrum master to ensure that project plans and finances align with the design.
    • Create and maintain current- and target-state data architectures defining guidelines and processes to ensure data quality and ensuring recommended technology solutions are in alignment with best in class data architecture principles and target state.
    • Participate in strategic and operational planning to support MVP's data management, interoperability, and encounter data needs.
    • Participate in the evaluation and procurement of data related technology platforms and solutions.
      POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

      Minimum Education:

      Bachelor's Degree required or related work experience will be considered in lieu of college degree.

      Minimum Experience:
    • 7 years' experience working in the Data Management and information Management spaces.
    • Experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and data analysis.
    • Good knowledge of data management, data integration and database development techniques primarily in an Azure cloud ecosystem.
    • Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, Spark).
    • Experience with ETL and streaming data tools.
    • Experience developing reference architecture, principles, and standards.
    • Experience or knowledge of the data requirements for health insurance industry.
    • Strong technical knowledge related to the IT space, particularly in the technology assets related to the business's IT operations.
    • Strong understanding of how different departments (marketing, finance, operations, etc.) will have different data uses and requirements.
    • Proven experience in Data Management planning, organization, and development.

    • Ability to regularly learn and adopt new technology.
    • Entity Relationship modeling, metadata systems, data quality tools and techniques.
    • Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and work with diverse project teams.
    • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong customer service orientation.
    • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
